He is a guitarist, teacher, composer and researcher. Graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid, Master in musical performance from the Higher School of Music and Dance of Rotterdam, Doctor and Associate in Music from the University of Aveiro.

He has won awards in various classical guitar competitions, winning the Alirio Díaz and Sociedad del Quinto Centenario competitions. He was also awarded in the I Hispano-Portuguese Composition Competition for Classical Guitar “Ciudad de Badajoz”. Most of his books and articles appear in international editions specialized in music. 

Among others, he recorded the CDs Por las callees de Maldonado (Plectrum-Factor), with his own compositions for solo guitar and guitar duo, Máscaras, and Música Latinoamericana del Siglo XX for guitar.

He maintains international activity, as a classical guitar soloist and as part of chamber music groups. He is artistic director of the Maldonado International Guitar Festival.
